A MISSION

HopeStreet began its Employment Training Program in 1995 with a cleaning service, cleaning a number of churches, offices and homes. We aim to build self-esteem and train people in basic employment skills such as communication, personal interaction, accountability and appropriate dress and conduct. We aim to provide the support, encouragement to personal growth, work experience and facilities to get people out of the depression and isolation of a life without meaningful activity into a situation where they have the support networks, skills and motivation to build a positive life and are able to access the opportunities available. A network of job agencies and opportunities helps to find places for people as they become ready to enter the workforce.

The Employment Training Program is just one part of the HopeStreet’s wholistic approach to developing life skills in who have not previously had the opportunity. Practical help, a welcoming community and opportunities to explore and embrace faith in Jesus provide a framework for people to find life to the full.
