Lismore

A safe and welcoming team to support you during tough times

HopeStreet Lismore offers support to people and families that are experiencing difficulties and need help. We cover the communities in and around Lismore, Ballina and Casino.

Our team helps to build up every person from where they are, offering hope, care and practical support that takes into account all of the needs that are relevant to a person’s circumstances.

We’re about going beyond the basic needs and together, working with people to see their whole situation, addressing physical, spiritual and emotional needs.

What we do

Casework & Referrals

Our caseworkers provide practical support and referrals to additional services as needed, including to government or service agencies. Casework provides an outcomes-based support service, where a caseworker and a client work together to address a specific need or goal.

StreetCare Van

Our StreetCare van parks up at Clifford Park, Goonellabah every Friday afternoon, providing a free BBQ, refreshments, activities for the kids and an opportunity for the community to connect with each other. We also support the Northern United RLFC, providing a free BBQ and being available to players and their families after training on Thursday evenings.

Work & Development Orders (WDOs)

Work and Development Orders (WDOs) help people who can’t pay their fines. If you are eligible for a WDO, we can help you to clear your fines with unpaid work or activities such as volunteering, counselling, courses, treatment programs and more.

No Interest Loans

Giving individuals and families access to safe and affordable loans

Our No Interest Loans are absolutely free of interest, fees, charges or penalties. They’re about giving individuals and families access to safe and affordable loans for everyday items such as white goods, car repairs, school uniforms, computers and medical bills.

People with poor credit history, or a string of bad debt and no spare cash, really struggle to find the funds for these every day or emergency costs, which can lead to substantial hardship. This basic financial support means that individuals and families are able to look towards their future, with a loan that empowers them, rather than adding to the cycle of debt.

Providing access to safe and affordable finance

Our No Interest Loans prevent financial exclusion and cycles of poverty
