Western Sydney

HopeStreet - Western Sydney works alongside communities to build local resilience, strengths and resources.

Through integrated services aligned to local concerns and aspirations, we aim to strengthen and support communities and families in Penrith, Mount Druitt, Willmot, Lethbridge Park, Shalvey and Bidwill.

What we do

Community Development

Our Community Development work assists with improving wellbeing and social cohesion whilst addressing external systems and structural issues that are causing inequality, injustice and discrimination. Our work involves;

  • Advocacy
  • Workshops
  • Community consultation
  • Church consultancy
  • School to vocation training
  • Referrals to other service providers

Family Strengthening

Our work in Western Sydney aims to contribute to a healthy, integrated and empowered local community through a range of services that support families and relationships, these include:

  • Case Work
  • Counselling

No Interest Loans

Giving individuals and families access to safe and affordable loans

Our No Interest Loans are absolutely free of interest, fees, charges or penalties. They’re about giving individuals and families access to safe and affordable loans for everyday items such as white goods, car repairs, school uniforms, computers and medical bills.

People with poor credit history, or a string of bad debt and no spare cash, really struggle to find the funds for these every day or emergency costs, which can lead to substantial hardship. This basic financial support means that individuals and families are able to look towards their future, with a loan that empowers them, rather than adding to the cycle of debt.

Women's Services

Women’s Services exists to increase belonging, safety and choice for women facing challenges and at risk of marginalisation in Western Sydney, including women involved in the sex industry, women facing domestic violence, and women based in social housing communities.

Our Women’s Services team includes counsellors and case workers, who specialize in supporting women and transgender women in domestic violence situations.
