St Marys

HopeStreet Women's Services provides spaces of belonging, increasing safety and creating choice.

Women’s Services includes a Women’s Centre that is a safe for women facing challenges and at risk of marginalisation in Western Sydney, including women involved in the sex industry and women facing domestic violence.

The core aims of Women's Services are to provide a sense of safety, increase the choices available to women facing difficult circumstances, and enhance a sense of belonging for the women who use the Space.

Women’s Services enables women (including transgender women) to access free, holistic and confidential professional support through a range of practical services including workshops and skills-based classes,  outreach, counselling and case management, safe-sex kits and assistance with accessing health and government services.

If you need support now, please email us or use the contact form at the bottom of this page.

What we do

Case Management

Case Management is a conversation between you and a qualified case worker aimed at supporting your wellbeing through setting goals, resolving issues and working together to achieve outcomes that are important to you.

Counsellors and Case Workers at HopeStreet Women’s Space use a person-centred approach with every person who comes to our service. This means we view you as the expert on yourself and your experiences; we support your choices and believe in your abilities. We recognise that in your life you may be responding to violence, oppression, and discrimination from other people and systems. As a service we aim to acknowledge these injustices and to support you in responding in ways that are meaningful and safe.

Sex Worker Support

We work with women who have had a range of experiences in the sex industry based on our understanding of some of the complexities that women may face. We offer free safe sex kits, outreach to brothels, sexual health support, counselling, case work, sex worker support, advocacy and exit pathways for women that want to leave the sex industry. We also have staff that speak Mandarin, Cantonese and Thai.

Counselling

Counselling is a conversation between you and a qualified counsellor aimed at supporting your wellbeing, appreciating your self-understanding, and exploring solutions that reflect your values and goals. A counsellor will ask you questions, and listen to your answers and opinions in an empathetic and non-judgemental way.

Workshops and Social Support

We believe it’s important to create spaces for women to connect and learn. We have regular social outings and events, in addition to workshops to develop a range of life-skills.
